Nigeria and Angola have qualified for the next round of the ongoing U-17 World Cup taking place in Brazil. Both African representatives in the tourney thanks to their second victory each in the competition have qualified for the knock out stage.
Nigeria brilliantly humbled Hungary in their first outing last Saturday (4-2). Last night, the Nigerian team in their second outing beat Ecuador (3-2). The victory guaranteed their qualification in the next phase of the competition.
Angola equally beat New Zealand (1-2) and Canada (2-1) to book their place for the knock-outs. Senegal thrashed the United States (1-4). The bay Terranga Lions are to play the Netherlands this evening.
Of the four African representatives, in the World Cup, the baby Lions are Cameroon are the only African team to have lost a match this far. The reigning African Champions suffered a one nil defeat to Tajikistan two nights back.
