The Indomitable Lionesses have left Cameroon for Abidjan as they prepare for their first leg Olympic qualifier against Ivory Coast on November 9, 2019. The Lionesses left via the Nsimalen International Airport in the early hours of the morning.
Before leaving Cameroon, The Lionesses played a friendly encounter against a local Amazone FAP which they beat two nil. The Lionesses’ goals were scored by Gabriel Aboudi Onguene who returns to the national side after serving a two match ban and Chanel Tchapchet. The match was played at the FECAFOOT Technical Center at Odza.
Ngock Yango of Guimgamp and Raissa Feudjio of Teenerife will join the rest of the Cameroonian delegation in Abidjan.
A victory for the Lionesses will put them in a comfortable position to qualify the 2020 Olympic Games schedule to take place in Tokyo, Japan. Cameroon women’s football team participated in their first Olympic Games in 2012 in London.
