Karl Toko Ekambi’s brace contributed to Villareal’s 4-1 whitewashing of Deportivo Alaves. The Cameroonian forward scored his fourth and fifth goals of his La Liga season. Playing the first fixture of match day 10 of La Liga, Villareal were playing host to Deportivo Alaves.
The former SCO Angers striker found the net on the 13th minute for the Yellow Submarines. The score of the remained unchanged till the second-half. Deportivo equalised on the 50th minute of play before Toko Ekambi put his club back on the rails with second goal of the match at the 65th minute. Toko Ekambi with his fellow Indomitable Lion team and club-mate Franck Zambo Anguissa have turned things around for Villareal so far this season.
This wsa Toko Ekambi’ third goal in two matches, as he scored his club’s lone two weeks back against Espanyol. The 2018 Marc-Vivien Foe Award winner for the best African player in France’s Ligue 1, it is hoped will maintain his goal scoring streak.
Villareal is actually occupying the 7th position on the classification table. They are three points from league Granada of Yan Eteki and two points from Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
