The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Pr Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has announced the four stadiums to host the 2020 African Football Championship (CHAN).
During a ceremony organised for the installation of different technical and monitoring committee members of the local organising committee of the CHAN at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex.
Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi who doubles as President of the Local Organising Committee of TOTAL 2020 CHAN and TOTAL 2021 AFCON (COCAN) during the ceremony equally announced the sites chosen to host the 2020 football jamboree. The sites were, Yaoundé Omnisports stadium, the Bepanda and Japoma stadiums in Douala, and Limbe-Buea. A video projection was done to show the different playing sites after the announcement was made.
The official date of the competition was equally made public. The tournament was going to run from April 5- 25, 2020. The Minister urged called on all members installed to stand up to the occasion as the CHAN 2020 was going to come to whet the appetite of sports and football lovers in particular for the AFCON 2021.
The sports boss equally announced the launching of artistic competitions for the proposal of and Official Anthem and Mascot for the completion. The competition which started on November 1, 2019 will end on November 15, 2019.
The completion logo was equally shown to guests present in the hall. The ceremony ended with Pr Narcisse Mouelle Kombi shaking hands with all the newly installed committee members as well as other state and sports officials present.
